An electronics company specializing in the design and production of industrial-grade high-power induction cookers is facing such a challenge. One of their recently developed products has high requirements on the material’s resistance to temperature and strength, which cannot be met by traditional production methods. They needed to find a solution that could meet the requirements of these industrial-grade high-power induction cooker products, and DEED 3D company completed their product requirements.

In the early stages of product development, this large electronics company experimented with resin printing to create prototypes. However, the temperature resistance and strength of the resin material cannot meet the test requirements, and can only be used to verify the assembly size. They also tried to use CNC to process, but because the requirements for processing materials are particularly high, and there is no material of suitable size, they can only be completed by dismantling and gluing. However, the adhesion of high-temperature plastics is poor, and there will always be problems such as cracking during the test. Moreover, high-temperature plastic raw materials are more expensive, the production time is long, and the production cost is high.

FDM printing PC material caseThe company tried many methods, but still couldn’t solve the problem. Finally, we found our company DEED 3D and tried to use 3D printing. We provide customers with an effective solution, which is to use PC materials combined with FDM printing. This material is a high-strength engineering thermoplastic, which is 50-70% stronger than ABS material and has good temperature resistance (heat distortion temperature: 144°C), which fully meets the requirements of this electronics company. More importantly, using 3D printing technology, rapid production and integrated molding can be realized, which greatly reduces production time and cost.

Finally, the electronics company realized functional testing, structural testing, and performance testing at a relatively low cost through the 3D printing services of our DEED 3D company. At the same time, all future designs can be updated, and those that can’t be manufactured by injection molding or CNC can be achieved by 3D printing
