Case introduction: SuLai Electronics is a company specializing in the design and production of industrial-grade high-power electromagnetic stoves, and has high requirements for material temperature resistance and strength. However, in the past production process, they encountered some difficulties. Early resin samples could only be used for assembly size verification and could not meet testing requirements. CNC machining was also attempted, but due to the high requirements for machining materials, there were no suitable materials of the correct size, and only assembly by disassembly and bonding was possible. However, high-temperature plastics generally have poor adhesion, and cracking and other issues would occur during testing. In addition, high-temperature plastic raw materials are expensive, production time is long, and production costs are high.

To solve these problems, SuLai Electronics chose to use 3D printing technology. They worked with DEED 3D company to use ULTEM1010, a high-temperature material, for printing. This material fully meets usage requirements and can be used for functional, structural, and performance testing. Compared with previous production methods, the cost of using 3D printing is relatively low, and it can also avoid some unavoidable human errors. In addition, using 3D printing technology can greatly shorten production time.

The advantages of using ULTEM1010 for printing are not only that the production cost is relatively low, but more importantly, it can meet high-temperature requirements. SuLai Electronics’ products need to work in a high-temperature environment, so the requirements for materials are very high. ULTEM1010 can withstand use in high-temperature environments, making it very suitable for SuLai Electronics’ products. Using 3D printing technology can also improve production speed and provide comprehensive testing evaluation for SuLai Electronics’ injection-molded products.
